Forum Museumsinsel Berlin – a unique
development project
The heart of cultural life in Berlin beats at the city’s very center – in the district surrounding the complex of museums known as the ‘Museumsinsel’. This spectacular area with its grandiose architecture dating back three centuries is set to receive a new lease of life and at the same time take on a new role. It is a welcome challenge for the Freiberger Holding with its expertise in developing major projects involving treasured monuments of historical interest. The development of the Forum Museumsinsel is to be one of the focal activities of the company over the next few years.
Bordering directly on to the Museumsinsel, within sight of Nofretete, this district is to be the stage for pulsating metropolitan life. It will play a fascinating role in providing an international meeting place in the revived city center, which already millions of visitors from all over the world flock to see. The Forum Museumsinsel will be home to an exciting mix of residential accommodation, hotel, gastronomy, retail shopping, creative offices, art galleries, condominium properties as well as venues for exhibitions and other events.
The ensemble serves a bridge linking the UNESCO world cultural heritage site of the Museumsinsel with the trendy art gallery district of Spandauer Vorstadt around the Oranienburger Straße, August Straße and Hackerscher Markt. It faces the River Spree and is within a short walking distance of the Boulevard ‘Unter den Linden’ and theater-land near the famous suburban railway station ‘Friedrichstaße’.
